"Lora Fosberg’s prints encapsulate words—remnants of particular moments, isolated phrases, or names—infusing them with metaphors, puns, references to nature, and human interaction. Text becomes image; word bubbles multiply, play amongst each other, and morph into a celestial formation while creating parallels and opposition. Her work incorporates handwritten words and an earthy color pallet, which serves as a reference to the natural and autobiographical."

– Andrea Green, Director, Visiting Artists Program, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago

Lora Fosberg was born in Waukegan, IL in 1966. She received her BFA from the University of Illinois and her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Lora has been living and working as an artist in Chicago for the past 20 years, and has recently moved to Bloomington, Indiana. She has shown in numerous shows around the world including Copenhagen, London, NYC, Miami, San Franciso, and Los Angeles, and has shows coming up in New Orleans, Chicago, and Salt Lake City. Fosberg's work reflects the human condition in all its forms, from banality to sexuality, no subject is too pedestrian or intimate. By utilizing humor, combined with stark reality, Fosberg's messages reach the heart and the brain with equal measure.
