MARY O'MALLEY

The art here was printed and published at Pele Prints. All of the prints are for sale. Please contact us for pricing and current availability.

Mary O'Malley's natural creations show just how beautiful the stream of consciousness can be. She approaches all of her illustrations the same way—by putting pen to paper, letting her hand and imagination take the lead. None of the images are sketched out or planned in advance. In the work she published with Pele Prints, she revels in botanical bouquets and the intricacies of nature. While gold and silver photo lithographs are the primary medium, Mary also includes moments of hand color in some pieces that embellish the work in just the right way.

Mary O’Malley earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 1997; in 2005 she received her Master of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York. O’Malley’s work has been exhibited widely, including Drawn to Detail, at the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, Still Life Lives! at the Fitchburg Art Museum, and twice in the juried publication, New American Paintings. In 2010, her work was acquired by the U.S. Embassy in Dubai. She has been the recipient of several grants, including two Massachusetts Cultural Council grants and, most recently, the Berkshire Taconic Foundation. She lives and works in New Hampshire.
